Ausa Fort , Ausa
Situated in an area of 5.52 hectares south of Ausa city, Bhuikot Fort was built by Mahmud Gawan in 1466 during the Bahmani period. Since the fort is located in a low-lying area, it is not visible until you get close. Its construction shows the influence of Turkish and European styles.
The fort houses historical places like Lokhandi Darwaza, Rani Mahal, Lal Mahal, Pani Mahal, Pari Bawdi, Katora Bawdi, and Chand Bawdi. Over time, the fort was occupied by the Yadavas, Bahmani, Nizamshahi, Adilshahi, Mughals, and the British. Ausa city itself is rich in historical, religious, and cultural heritage.
