Social Welfare Department
Introduction
Social Welfare Department is one of the 14 important departments of Zilla Parishad Latur. The District Social Welfare Officer is the head of this department. The work of implementing welfare schemes for backward classes and disabled beneficiaries is done through the Social Welfare Department. The main objective of the department is to effectively implement various schemes for the educational, economic and social progress of the weaker sections of the society.
Vision and Mission
- To improve the educational and social quality of life of backward classes and persons with disabilities
- Promoting economic development through livelihood tools
- Providing equal opportunities to all sections of society
- According to government policies, 20% of the funds should be spent on the welfare of backward classes
Objectives and tasks
- Implementing various schemes for backward classes and disabled persons through Zilla Parishad Cess Fund
- Implementing the schemes of the Social Justice and Special Assistance Department of the Government of Maharashtra
- To develop self-sufficiency for backward classes and persons with disabilities
- Implementation and control of schemes through the Social Welfare Committee
