    Finance Department

    Introduction

    The Finance Department manages financial transactions of the Zilla Parishad as per the Maharashtra Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti Act 1961 and the Accounts Code 1968. It also acts on government orders issued from time to time. The department withdraws government funds via treasury, distributes them to departments based on requirements, maintains records of receipts and expenditures, disburses retirement benefits, manages the Employee Pension Fund and contributory funds (post 31/10/2005), and handles trust and routine administrative matters of Zilla Parishad.

    To ensure control and discipline in the financial affairs of Zilla Parishad through proper accounting, fund management, and policy compliance.

    Mission

    To manage budget, accounting, and auditing operations of the Zilla Parishad in a transparent and efficient manner.

    Objectives and Tasks
    • Advising the Chief Executive Officer on financial matters.
    • Scrutinizing department accounts before making payments.
    • Collection and proper management of Zilla Parishad revenue.
    • Internal auditing of Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti departments.
