District Rural Development Agency (DRDA)
Introduction
District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), Zilla Parishad Latur is an important agency working for the overall development of the poor in rural areas. The District Rural Development Agency has been established in the state for the effective implementation of centrally sponsored schemes. This organization has been established under the Society Registration Act 1860 and the Mumbai Public Trusts Act 1950.
Various schemes are implemented to empower the poor in rural areas economically. Through DRDA, various employment-oriented schemes are implemented to provide financial assistance to self-help groups and make them self-sufficient. This agency is functioning under the leadership of the Project Director.

To work for the overall development of the rural poor and to guide them towards self-sufficiency.
Mission:
To effectively implement development schemes in rural areas as per the guidelines of the Central and State Governments.
Objectives and Tasks
- Implementing centrally sponsored schemes.
- Providing benefits to poor families through individual and collective schemes.
- Providing employment-oriented loan cases to self-help groups.
- Providing investment and assistance in agriculture, animal husbandry, dairy business, small scale industries, etc.
- Coordinating with Zilla Parishad, Agricultural Industries Corporation, Cooperative Banks, Commercial Banks, and other institutions.
